Dee Davison, IGC Public Engagement Manager
Within our institute, the role of the Public Engagement Manager is to help our 600 students and staff to develop their science communication skills and confidence so that they can start conversations and then effectively and engagingly share their science. As our students and staff get better at talking about and writing about our institute’s research to anyone and become more inspired to do so, they become better researchers and more effective at generating press and media coverage, securing funding and, where relevant, shifting to a co-production model of health research, facilitating collaborations between the experts - the people living with genetic conditions and patient advocate groups and our researchers.
