Dept Rural & Community Development & the Gaeltacht

The Department of Rural and Community Development was established on 19 July 2017. The department changed its name to The Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht on 02 June 2015.

Our mission is "to promote rural and community development and to support vibrant, inclusive and sustainable communities throughout Ireland.”
