Depaul Nightstop North East & Cumbria

Nightstop provides homeless people with emergency accommodation in the homes of volunteers across the North East.  Volunteers provide a homeless person with a hot meal in the evening, an opportunity to have a bath or shower, a warm safe bed, and breakfast the following morning.  All volunteers and people accessing the project are subject to rigorous checks and risk assessments are always carried out.  Nightstop allows homeless people a period of reflection away from the chaos of the streets, short-term action planning and signposting to resolve housing problems in the most safe and effective way.  Nightstop protects people from harm by reducing the need for them to use inappropriate accommodation or having to sleep rough whilst providing support to find a longer term housing solution.
