Derbyshire Makes

Derbyshire Makes is funded by Arts Council England’s Place Partnership fund, which uses money from the National Lottery, and Derbyshire County Council and has already secured 50 partners to support its delivery.

Derbyshire Makes aims:

To produce a collaborative, countywide programme activating museums, archives and heritage sites, whilst connecting arts organisations, libraries, adult education, schools, Local Cultural Education Partnerships, designer makers, Further Education & Higher Education, manufacturers and audiences through the theme of creative innovation and making.

To showcase Derbyshire’s rich heritage of making and innovation through animating its unique collections, artefacts and stories as the source of inspiration for creative, commercial and community engagement.

To celebrate the wealth of place-based creativity taking place across the county, in towns and villages, within homes and communities through a connected, networked and mobile programme.

To nurture creative potential and build skills for a sustainable future.

To develop a stronger cultural sector through collaboration between the independent, private, not for profit and authority sectors.
