Digital Folk Project, Universities of Sheffield and Westminster

Digital Folk is a two-year research project hosted by the University of Sheffield, in collaboration with the University of Westminster, and funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council. 

How – and why – do traditional musicians and dancers in England use digital resources?  Does the integration of modern digital tools and media affect the way we think about the “traditional” material that we perform? And are they likely to have an impact on the ways in which people perform – and experience – folk?  These questions (and more) are the focus of Digital Folk...
