Diogenes’ Barrel is The Attic Gallery’s online event series exploring all things Greek: culture, the arts, mythology, folklore, philosophy, ancient and modern, and their intersection with the wider world. Our name reflects the spirit of our events and of the philosopher Diogenes himself: irreverent, questioning, undoubtedly deep, but above all, searching for integrity.

Curated by Dr Sasha Chaitow, the series offers an insider view of Greek thought, and hosts scholars, artists, poets, and practitioners sharing their thoughts, practices, and creative responses to modern quandaries in a Diogenean spirit. We seek common ground in the framework of Greek thought, old and new, and we use our platform to create a modern-day agora of respectful, challenging, meaningful exchange. The Attic Gallery

The Attic Gallery is an arts and culture venue located in the attic of a neoclassical mansion in the heart of Corfu town. Founded in 2018 to refresh the local art scene, it is directed and curated by British-Greek scholar and artist Dr Sasha Chaitow. The Attic hosts local and international, emerging and established artists for solo and group exhibitions; we host book presentations, lectures, workshops, and film screenings and we support exciting endeavours in art and culture.
