Clean, precise, and on time. These words are described by the one and only Roxbury, MA-bred,

Lebanese/Puerto Rican Victor Ortiz AKA DJ ViXXX of Boston, Massachusetts. This well-known

DJ and career firefighter has rocked the dance floors for more than 25 years. DJ Vixxx is especially

known for a unique skill called Video DJing. This art form consists of connecting a monitor or

a large projector to the DJ equipment. The visual of the song shows up on the large screen creating

a connection of sound and vision all in one. Vixxx became fixated on Video DJing when he

took a trip down to Miami, FL and went to a club that featured a large screens playing the visual

of the song and the music with it. From there, he became hooked and transformed into what he is today.

DJ Vixxx started DJing about the age of fourteen years old. He knew he always had a passion

for music and wanted to pursue it as a life dream. At the age of sixteen or seventeen, he started

his professional DJ career at Club Choices in 1988 located in Somerville, Ma. He performed for

the Friday Night Top 40 and dance music crowd. From there, he became owner of Club Choices

all the way up to eight months ago when he decided to move on to more focused DJing career.

When Vixxx is not spinning on the turntables, he is saving lives and putting out fires as a firefighter

in Massachusetts for more than fifteen years. DJ Vixxx is part of a Boston’s Non-Profit

Organization called DJs for Peace, a part of a well-known local organization called Peace Boston.

These organizations play a major role in mentoring and keeping urban teens off the streets to

seek a better way of life. DJs for Peace are a group of DJs who volunteer their skills in events

that are held by Peace Boston. DJ Vixxx is a member of 9 Alarms Productions, a group of firefighters

that came together to form a promotional company in which they host various events

within the Great Boston and beyond areas of Massachusetts. 9 Alarms Productions is widely

popular within the Boston area.

DJ ViXXX is currently working on a few projects such as livingbettanow.com. A website / social

media platform based on a community of people who like to have fun, without always having to

go to the club. "Living Betta Now" shares different locations out of town to visit, different restaurants,

cities to frequent, and what to do in New England.

ViXXX states he would be happy to assist an aspiring DJ who is serious enough and willing

to learn the fundamentals of DJing skills such as counting the beats on your own and learning

the business aspect of it as well.

DJ ViXXX hopes to bring the skills of Video Djing to Boston in a big way. He knows this will create

a brand new phenomenon in the world of DJs. Though Boston has not been to open to it in

the past, Vixxx has faith that one day; Boston will open up and accept it. DJ Vixxx knew from

the beginning he didn’t want to be like all the rest, he wanted to create a good sound and connecting

visually with the dance crowd. “I control the video like I control the record. When I play,

you can’t tell what the next song is until the chorus comes in.”
