DMWS Training

DMWS Training is the training arm of the Defence Medical Welfare Service (DMWS).

DMWS have been providing Medical Welfare Support to the Armed Forces Community since 1943 and now work with a range of other ‘frontline’ workers, who put themselves in harm’s way to protect the public.

Our staff work with patients when they are receiving treatment on a clinical care pathway - when their medical needs are being met but when other issues, problems or social influences, may be distracting them from their recovery. Our highly trained staff assess and address the welfare needs, enabling the patient to return to health, work and home at the earliest opportunity.

In 2012, we took our knowledge, experience and skills to form DMWS Training, and now deliver a range of training courses to share with others working at the ‘frontline of welfare’.

Our courses include:

FE Level 3 Diploma in Welfare Studies

Mental Health First Aid  - Adult, Youth, Lite and Armed Forces Community

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST

Strengthening Personal Resilience

The Managers Role in Resilience

Armed Forces Community Awareness
