Nicky’s aim is to redefine optimal health and fitness for the individual. Her approach integrates all aspects of her professional clinical experience with her medical research expertise in Endocrinology and Sport and Exercise Medicine.
Nicky qualified as medical doctor from Cambridge University. Clinical attacments have included Sports Medicine Centres in Australia. Research has included being on an international medical team developing a test for athletes doping wth growth hormone. Other research projects investigated the effect of training and nutrition on growth, development, Endocrine status and bone mineral density. This has lead to several publications in medical journals and awards in Sports and Exercise Medicine .
Nicky regularly writes blogs on her website on the reciprocal network interactions of the Endocrine system, exercise, nutrition, health and fitness. At the invitation of the Editor of the British Journal of Sport Medicine and President of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine she writes regular articles and recently produced a teaching module for sports physicians on relative energy deficiency in sport (RED-S). Nicky delivers presentations on various aspects of Sport Endocrinology to all age groups.
