Dr Sanika Kulkarni

I'm a Cardiac Surgery Specialty Registrar currently training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. My clinical focus is adult cardiac surgery.

I ranked second in my MBBS university cohort, graduating with a red diploma (degree of honors), and I continue to pursue academic excellence through research, national conference presentations, and peer-reviewed publications. I’m currently working on certain publications.

I also serve as a mentor for the MRCS OSCE, supporting fellow trainees in their preparation for this critical milestone in surgical education.

I strongly believe in continuous professional development and have undertaken multiple accredited courses to enhance my surgical, academic, and leadership skills. I actively engage in quality improvement projects and medical education initiatives to contribute meaningfully to both patient care and trainee development.

I’m passionate about integrating clinical practice with innovation and research, and I’m always open to collaboration with like-minded professionals across the cardiothoracic surgery landscape nationally and internationally.
