Educational Psychologists' "Race" and Culture Forum (EPRCF)

Based in London, U.K., the EPRCF was set up in March 2012, following a series of London based forums amongst Educational Psychologists (EPs) in the London Boroughs of Haringey, Enfield and Waltham Forest. It has since evolved and provides an inclusive, independent, participatory forum and professional discussion group aimed at any Educational Psychologist (EP), Trainee EP or Assistant EP working in U.K., with a professional interest in issues around “race” and culture. Membership is free and it operates on goodwill and volunteer participation. Service users and other mental health professionals welcome.

Aims of EPRCF

i) To provide a reflective, safe and confidential space for Educational Psychologists to critically discuss issues and develop professional practice around “race” and culture.

ii) To promote the development of Educational Psychology services that are relevant and accessible to people from Black and Minority Ethnic Communities in U.K.

Forums are generally held on Friday evenings, once a term, between 4:30pm – 6:30pm. Venues are usually at a central London location with good transport links.

Please contact the organisers if you wish to join the circulation list or would like to facilitate a forum discussion around your area of interest. We welcome collaboration and partnerships with community organisations, academics and  any  regional and professional groups with similar interests.
