Eli Venue Dressing & Events

My name is Taffy. I started this company in 2014 just after having my 1st Son whilst on maternity leave. My initial idea was to just hire out chaircovers on DIY basis. The bookings started coming in and i found myself buying more and more items and going out more to dress the venues which i really enjoyed doing. I was already working in the Events industry (since 2006) moving from one position to the other to experience the Hospitality industry as a whole. 

 

2010 i graduated with 2.1 Ba Hons in International Hopitality management. I got promoted to working as an assistant manager at the hotel i was working at at that time (The Quality Hotel - Wolverhampton)to help me enhance my skills and knowledge and i was also put in charge of the events which i enjoyed. 

 

I then moved to The Village Hotel in Coventry to be an event coordinator (2012) then left and thats when i started my own company and i have never looked back ever since. 

 

Fast forward 2016 i opened a small wedding/events shop in a small town of Dudley in the Plaza Mall. It hasnt been easy in that mall as its sort of like a hidden area and many customers stop at the front and they do not walk down to where all the other shops are. For those that do they are well shocked to see how rich the mall is in terms of the number of businesses in that area and the products available for sale. 

 

What i admire most about the small businesses in that mall is persistence. Every morning they wake up to do it again everyday. This is why i wanted to create this platform for us to be recognised and to network with other companies outside and to motivate and inspire each other. Together we can uplift each other.
