Equally Well - Dundee City Council

Equally Well in Dundee aims to tackle health inequalities by improving community mental wellbeing in disadvantaged areas. Its approach is based on the tried and tested theory that through a process of engagement, awareness raising and capacity building,
services and the community can change to better address factors affecting mental wellbeing.

The Equally Well approach focuses on:

  • Working in collaboration with local service providers/ organisations
  • Bridging the gap between hard to reach local people and services using a collective, grass roots approach to tackle health inequalities and promote mental wellbeing
  • Identifying assets, gaps and needs within target communities to form appropriate action and responses
  • Facilitating discussions around how to improve community wellbeing using an assets based approach
  • Utilising existing resources to develop sustainablewellbeing focussed tests of change
