EYP Solutions CIC & MBK Training

The West Midlands Ofsted Big Conversation Steering Group brought together all 14 districts of the Ofsted West Midlands Region with a view to raising issues and discussions that were relevant to Early Years Providers within the PVI sector and registered on the Early Years Register.

Their Purpose within the Terms of Reference are:

"To provide a communication forum where providers* in Ofsted’s West Midlands Region, who deliver Early Years care and education, can collectively bring shared areas of concern or common themes they seek further clarification on, to a representative from Ofsted, and receive a timely response.

To provide Ofsted an opportunity to give updates on changes and direction of travel and to help dispel Ofsted ‘myths’.

To plan and prepare Agendas for West Midlands OBC Open Meetings that will occur at least once per year in both the North & South of the region each time. These agendas to include any relevant items from the National OBC Agenda. Open Questions may also be asked but these answers may not be available but can be fed back to the Steering Group at their next meeting and disseminated to others as soon as possible. Where concerns are raised as urgent outside of this time frame the Steering Group representative may raise this directly with Ofsted for a response.

*West Midlands providers delivering Early Years care and education, include but are not limited to private, voluntary and independent settings such as day nurseries, pre-schools, childminders and Children’s Centres (collectively called ‘PVI’)"
