Festival of the Sea Grimsby
Join us on a voyage of discovery, as we set sail into Grimsby’s future, present and past through the town’s newest festival, Festival of the Sea.
We invite you to celebrate our connections to the sea, while experiencing leading outdoor performances and exploring more about the town’s history.
‘Festival Square’ will host a free programme of vibrant street theatre, live music and dance from talented local and national artists and there’s the chance to engage in heritage walks, talks and debates, while thinking more about sustainability. Within the square, food stalls will celebrate Grimsby’s links to the sea through its world-leading seafood sector and the Minster café will be open, hosting live DJs playing global sounds.
A series of online events hosted between 12 – 16 July, will delve into Grimsby’s sea-faring heritage and families can also join in nature activities, helping them learn more about the wildlife around our waterways.
Festival of the Sea is key new event for Grimsby, offering something for all ages. Its introductory year has been planned under the constantly shifting tides of the pandemic and we’ll be managing audiences through ticketing to ensure safe and enjoyable events.
