Myasthenia Gravis is a neuromuscular disorder. Neuromuscular disorders involve the muscles and the nerves that control them.  Myasthenia gravis is a type of autoimmune disorder. Myasthenia gravis can affect people at any age. Myasthenia gravis causes weakness of the voluntary (skeletal) muscles. Voluntary muscles are those that are under your control. In other words, you think about moving your arm, and it moves. The muscle weakness of myasthenia gravis worsens with activity and improves with rest

The Branch is part of a larger charity, children forming just 3% of the membership. We fundraise continually to afford families in the UK and Ireland the opportunity to come together once a year to learn about the latest research developments, share experiences and enjoy a short break. The family weekend provides children with myasthenia and their families with a chance to get to know one another and form long-standing, supportive relationships, reducing isolation and increasing awareness of the condition, in all its forms.
