GLD provides three packed training programmes each year, full of CPD accredited legal lectures, conferences and workshops. GLS Lawyers are welcome to join us at any of our events advertised. We do not charge for our training.

We are also the proud providers of GLS Training events, which again are free at the point of delivery for attendence by GLS Lawyers. Please note that some of these events are both high demand and subject to a limited capacity and so we are not able to take bookings for these through this online system. In these cases, you should note your interest in attending with your Departmental Training Contact. Members of departments that have contributed to the GLS Training Programme will be given priority for places at these events.

The following commitments from both delegates and the team result in the smooth running of the programme.

All delegates commit to:

Book in advance and cancel your place if necessary

To ensure your place and receive all pre course material, you must book in advance. If you find you can no longer attend, please cancel your place so it can be reallocated.

Arrive prepared and on time

You are responsible for printing any material that is passed to you prior to the event. You will receive a calendar invite from GLD People Development Team which will confirm the start time. Late admittance is entirely at speaker’s discretion. If you have not received a calendar invite or any pre course material prior to the event, please confirm with us that you have been allocated a place before attending.

Sign in and feedback

In order to receive CPD points, you must sign the register, as this is submitted as your proof of attendance. Additionally, we only receive CPD accreditation if we meet an evaluation response rate set by the Bar Council and Law Society and maintain a record of this. Failure to meet this target may result in accreditation being withdrawn. To ensure our response rate is high enough, please complete the post course evaluation.

GLD People Development Team commit to:

Provide you with all pre information

We will forward all pre-course material as soon as it is made available by the speaker. This may be provided post-course, if the speaker requests such. We will circulate a calendar note confirming timings approx 10 days before the event.

Communicate relevant changes

If an event is postponed or cancelled, we will take the following steps to notify you.

  1. Those who have already applied will receive an email detailing the change.
  2. If a calendar entry has been issued, this will be amended/cancelled.
  3. Notices will appear in Refresh, TWiB, on LION and on the GLD Intranet.
  4. TLOs will be asked to cascade the information to their areas.

React to feedback and protect your comments

We read all post course evaluations and aim to take all comments forward for consideration. So you may give your honest view, these surveys can be submitted anonymously. If you feel you would like to receive a response to your feedback, please provide an email address. This will not be passed to course providers without your consent.

If you would like us to provide you with our full eBrochure, applicable to the current training programme, please email
