Greater Manchester Combined Authority
The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) is made up of the ten Greater Manchester councils, the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, and the Mayor of Greater Manchester. Our vision is to make Greater Manchester one of the best places in the world to grow up, get on and grow old, and the Greater Manchester Strategy sets out a series of clear priorities for delivering this, in partnership with other public services, community and voluntary organisations, businesses and residents.
Greater Manchester Green City Region
The Greater Manchester Green City Region Portfolio Lead is Councillor Neil Emmott. Along with Councillor Emmott, the GMCA Environment Team facilitate action and support progress on the Five-Year Environment Plan. This plan sets out our long-term environmental vision to be carbon neutral by 2038 and the urgent actions we all need to take in the next 5 years to help achieve this. The Greater Manchester Green Region City aims to help individuals, businesses, industry and institutions to take action to lower our city-regions carbon footprint and move towards carbon neutrality. Supporting Greater Manchester to become a more sustainable place to work, live and visit.
