Greenwich Heritage Centre - Museum and Archive

The museum and archive at Greenwich Heritage Centre tells stories about the Royal borough through its diverse collections whether objects, paintings, prints and drawings, maps, photographs or deeds. Collection highlights include the weird and wonderful whether exotic bird, Victorian egg whisk, baby alligator or elephant’s foot. Through our changing programme of exhibitions and events, as well as free access to our research space, the Search Room, you can explore your family and local history.

Inside the Arsenal: Our permanent exhibition, Inside the Arsenal, tells the story of the Royal Arsenal and Royal Woolwich Dockyard, spanning across 400 years.

Making Woolwich, The Royal Regiment of Artillery in Woolwich: This permanent exhibition reveals the 300 year history of the Royal Regiment of Artillery and its deep connection with the town of Woolwich.

41 Pattison Road: Through one Plumstead home, this exhibition, spanning one hundred years including two World Wars, explores the day-to-day life of the Downar and Walker families, featuring items from our collections including motor car ration book, national identity card and aircraft damage insurance.
