I am Amanda York, a Register of Exercise Professionals Certified Level 3 Personal Trainer, Yoga Coach, Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) Practitioner, holistic health presenter & writer operating in London along the River Thames, covering Greenwich SE8, Rotherhithe SE16, Canada Water SE16, Surrey Quays SE16, Bermondsey SE1, Canary Wharf E14, Mudchute E14, Wapping E14, London Bridge SE1, Borough SE1 & South Bank SE1.

I’ve been weight training for over half my life & active everyday which has helped me to maintain my size 10 frame & endless energy at 41 years old.

Every year I train towards a new sport. This year was Miss Galaxy Universe Bikini Competitor & previously both the London Marathon & London Half Marathon, Surfit, Figure Skating Level 7, SkiFit, Equestrian, London to Brighton Bike Ride, Trekking in Peru & yoga ashrams.

I’m currently executing an 8 month training programme I devised to showcase at NBBA Masters Toned Figure Competition which will take more dedication & commitment than ever before, in terms of lifting weights, sculpting & stripping fat. In front of judges there’s no place to hide.

Gymanda was brewing in the 90’s when I took an ‘Exercise To Music’ course which changed my life. Learning about our physiology & anatomy blew me away. Then in my early 30’s I discovered that I had several underlying health issues which made me look at my hedonistic lifestyle & make some major changes.

I expanded my knowledge by taking an intensive ‘AdvancedPersonal Trainer’ course in 2007, a Raw Living Food Chef in 2008 & fully qualified yoga coach in 2011 with neuro linguistic programming following this year to complete the holistic package.

Exercise, rest & nutrition go hand-in-hand in achieving a state of well being, to feel buoyant & energetic. When you are physically healthy, your mind will occupy a place of well being too.

My ultimate mission at Gymanda is to create a fun yet effective, holistic & bespoke training programme in whichever field you wish & to help you develop optimum healthy habits for the rest of your lives.
