Healthy Start, Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA is a Black woman-led public health organization working to improve maternal and child health and reduce infant mortality across Allegheny County and surrounding communities.

For more than 35 years, Healthy Start has been rooted in community-led work, with a clear focus on improving outcomes for Black moms, babies, and families. Our work is grounded in four core areas: Direct Service & Community Education; Coalition Building, Collaboration & Convening; Research; and Policy, Advocacy & Training. Through these interconnected efforts, we support families, strengthen community voice, generate knowledge, and push for policies that create lasting change.
