Islington People’s Rights (IPR) has been offering independent advice to local people on welfare benefits and debt matters since 1969.

Islington People’s Rights: Fifty years of tackling poverty in the borough.

At Islington Museum from 2nd November to 21st January 2020

Through the stories of people whose lives have been touched by their connection with IPR, this exhibition charts the organisation’s history over the past 50 years in response to welfare reform and the changing face of poverty in Islington. Today, IPR provides direct help to over 2,500 people a year. The exhibition will reflect on current challenges in meeting growing demands for IPR services following the introduction of Universal Credit and years of austerity.
