Kathy Slack - Gluts & Gluttony

Hi. I’m Kathy and I run Gluts & Gluttony - part food writing, part supper club, part cookery classes.

I write about the gluts I get from my beloved vegetable patch, how I grow them and how I cook when there’s a kitchen full of cauliflower or whatever happens to be glutting at the time. For the past 4 years I have also been hosting supper clubs and cookery classes using homegrown ingredients.

I came to cooking, and vegetables, 6 years ago after I quit my job in London and escaped to the countryside. I worked at Daylesford Organic Farm and trained at places like River Cottage and Thyme in Southrop - bascially anywhere with a veg patch and a kitchen!

I like simple, beautiful and convivial food that shows off the best of the season's harvest and the produce from our fabulous Cotswold landscape. I'm not vegetarian, but my meals tend to put vegetables at the centre of the plate. It's all very laid back, no frills or frippery and don't even start me on foams...
