Katumba Halloween Festival
Our Halloween Festival is BACK, culminating in our famous Halloween Carnival on Saturday 29th October.
This year revived with the telling of a crucial narrative: the perils we and our planet face.
Drawing on traditions of Druidic Samhaim, Dia de los Muertos, Dia de Finados in Latin America, and Axexê in African Yorubá – when its believed a portal opens between dimensions – we will bring to life our future planet nearing extinction…
Expect a horde of drummers, dancers, fire artists, and illuminated props making its way down Bold St, with a grand finale at Liverpool One!
GET INVOLVED
We’re inviting you to take part in the festival – not only as spectators, but as individuals making it come to life! 14th – 28th October
We’re holding two weeks of community cultural workshops where participants will express their realities using oral traditions and ludic sharings, learn about positive and accessible changes, and collectively find solutions to be translated into pieces of music, dance, theatre and art – including an illuminated cycling critical mass to be showcased at the Katumba Halloween Carnival on the 29th of October. Workshops include our Katumba Drumming & Movement tasters for new and aspiring performers!
LEARN
Take part in our workshops being offered for ALL AGES, learning from professionals and creating your prop, beat, and/or dance move for our Halloween Carnival.
PERFORM
Professional artist or not, showcase your talent at the Carnival as a mover, actor, musician, prop bearer and trouble maker.
