PDL4HUNGER.INC – 501(c)3 -Charity – “A Paddle; For Hunger” is a kayak instruction/trip organization that serves coastal Monmouth County, New Jersey. We offer American Canoe Association (ACA) introductory paddle classes and waterfront destination trips from Forge Pond, Brick Township- to the Shrewsbury River, Red Bank, New Jersey.
Our events are all-inclusive and include:
- Kayak, paddle, and insurance
- Complimentary on-water snacks and non-alcoholic beverages
- Pre-arranged meals at local restaurants
- Guide-led paddles and instruction.
Our goal is help you become safer on the water and using your tax-deductible donation to help us supply four (4) $500 grants- totaling up to $2,000 annually, to assist N.A., A.A., and weekly lunch meetings in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
All trips are for paddlers 18 and older; however, on evaluation we can accommodate minor children as young as 16 who have taken our online paddle class, which is included in their registration cost.
Our kayak fleet includes:
- One (1) Wilderness Systems Tempest 165 sit-in sea kayak
- Four (4) Wilderness Systems Tsunami 140 sit-in touring kayaks
- Two (2) Old Town Loon – 106/120 sit-in recreational kayaks
- Two (2) Pelican Bounty X100 sit-in introductory kayaks
- Sit on and tandem kayaks are available upon request- but cannot be used for open-water or tidal trips.
We are proud paddling members of and train with:

- The Jersey Shore Sea Kayakers Association (JSSKA)
- The Leigh Valley Kayak and Canoe Club

You can find us on the water and in the community from Red Bank through Manasquan form April 15th through October 15th.
