Surprising life stories, strange adventures, startling achievements and forgotten by-ways of history are my passion, especially around science and invention. I am also fascinated by the conjunction of ingenuity and science used in the world of secret intelligence.
I have been leading London tours since 2008. I contribute articles to Londonist. I am a volunteer (and blogger) at the Royal Institution, and a volunteer guide for the London Canal Museum's towpath walks.
I am a specialist guide but my tours have wide appeal. They feature entertaining social history and oddity rather than technical detail. My tours cover subjects that others do not and vice versa, providing an alternative and unusual view of London.
