Lean Competency System
Lean Competency Services Ltd holds the Cardiff University licence to manage the Lean Competency System (LCS), a qualifications framework used by over 100 organisations globally to support continuous improvement (CI) training based on Lean Thinking.
The LCS’s main activity is accrediting organisations’ CI training programmes, enabling them to issue Certificates of Lean Competency to learners. An organisation becomes accredited by submitting evidence that its training meets the accreditation standards and is aligned to the LCS framework.
The LCS certifies individuals directly at LCC Levels 2 and 3 through its Approved Prior Learning & Experience route, provides a Continuing Professional Development service for practitioner members of its community and is developing complementary qualification frameworks. It also undertakes research activities through the Lean Enterprise Research Centre.
The LCS was created in 2005 by the Lean Enterprise Research Centre at Cardiff University, while the licenced company was launched in 2014.
