Learn Ga & Twi

Godfey Nii Buckle is the founder of Learn Ga and Twi.

Nii was born and raised in Accra, Ghana where he was a teacher for 10 years, teaching both Primary and Junior secondary school students. Amongst the subjects which he taught were Twi and Ga. So as a qualified teacher in Ghana, and a native speaker, he comes with a vast amount of experience and knowledge of the Ghanaian language and culture. As well as speaking Twi and Ga, he also speaks Hausa and some Ewe.

After moving to the UK and becoming a qualified teacher there, he quickly realised that there were many British born Ghanaians who were unable to fluently speak the two main Ghanaian languages, Ga and Twi. He recognised that there was a real demand for those wanting to learn their native language.

In addition, Nii also came across many people who wanted to either learn some basic Ga or Twi because they would be traveling to Ghana for business or pleasure but were not Ghanaian themselves.

Nii loves Ghana and is passionate about his country, culture and language and wants to impart his knowledge onto those who have that same interest. This is what led him to start his own classes teaching adults.

As well as teaching the Ghanaian language, Nii's profession is as a financial advisor who specialises in insurance protection.
