Live Age Festival 2017 takes place on Friday 29 September 2017 at the New Vic Theatre, Basford, Stoke & 1st October 2017 at the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery, Hanley, Stoke - on - Trent.

Live Age was set up in 2014 by a consortium of artists and social orgisations led by Keele University to showcase the creative talents of older people across North Staffordshire.

Friday 29th September will take place at the New Vic Theatre and will include The Live Age Conversation - an opportunity for older people, professionals, acadmics and artists to discuss the impact of creative ageing. This year the conversation will discuss this in the context of Stoke's bid to become the 2021 UK City of Culture.

Sunday 1st October, UK Older People's Day, is hosted by the Potteries Museum & Art Gallery and includes performances from FRONTLINEdance and the Staffordshire Poet Laureate.

Linked events will take place around Staffordshire's local community centres, residential homes, theatres, museums and galleries - increasing the number of opportunities for local people to get creative and to train those working in the community to integrate creativity into their work.

We are delighted that the Baring Foundation and Arts Council England's Celebrating Age fund selected the Live Age Festival to support for two years. This programme provides for five artists and arts organisations to work with community groups which support older people. This year's Live Age Festival is an opportunity to experience this work.
