Lobular Breast Cancer UK
We are a volunteer patient focused charity working to raise awareness about and improve treatment for lobular breast cancer.
Lobular Breast Cancer is the second most common breast cancer, making up 15% of all breast cancers diagnosed. Due to its unique growth pattern, it rarely forms a lump making it hard to detect by touch or on mammograms. Additionally, it can recur 10 - 15 years after initial diagnosis; can potentially spread to unusual parts of the body; and respond differently to treatment.
Having a lobular breast cancer diagnosis can feel incredibly isolating and our work aims to bring together people who have received a diagnosis. We aim to help them understand more about lobular, connect with people who have had a similar diagnosis and provide them with the knowledge and tools to be their own best advocate.
We work nationally and internationally with other charities, researchers and clinicians to increase research into this distinct disease. By understanding lobular we can ensure that anyone diagnosed receives targeted treatments to ensure the best outcome for them.
