Mandala Consultants Community Interest Company

Mandala Consultants CIC is a social enterprise founded in 2018. Our mission is towards working collaboratively to nurture resilience and wellbeing within individuals, communities and organisations and to support social change. 

Mandala consultants bring our experience to a model of working collaboratively that merges community development approaches with psychological therapies to develop and deliver trauma informed services, training and organisation support in the areas of transcultural working, wellbeing and resilience, trauma, vicarious trauma and social change. We are currently consulting on the development of our low cost/free counselling service for people afffected by structural violence.

 

  • work with marginalised communities to support the development of culturally sensitive initiatives
  • work with organisations and community groups who are committed to developing inititiatives that respond to stress, vicarious traumatisation and burnout
  • provide supervision, consultation and clinical consultation to professionals and community activists who are working with traumatic themes or material
  • provide organisational development support and facilitation
  • develop and deliver training programmes
  • deliver events and activities that promote wellbeing

 

When you engage Mandala Consultants to deliver an activity for you or your organisation you are supporting us in our wider aim to establish a free counselling and psychotherapy service for refugees and asylum seekers and a service for people working with trauma who are experiencing Vicarious Trauma, Crisis, Stress or Burnout

 

About us:

Norma McKinnon Fathi is a UKCP Registered Counsellor and Psychotherapist and a qualified Community Worker. Norma has 20 years’ experience working with vulnerable people who have experienced trauma including survivors of childhood sexual abuse, childhood neglect, violence, conflict and torture. For the past 11 years her clinical work has been with survivors of torture and she previously managed psychological services at a national charity. Norma works in private practice and is a co-founder at Mandala Consultants.

 

 

 

Elise Marshall is a person-centred counsellor, supervisor and trainer and a registered, accredited member of BACP. Elise is also a professional massage therapist and qualified yoga teacher. She has over 14 years working with survivors of trauma including with those who have experienced childhood sexual abuse, sexual violence, domestic abuse and torture. For ten years she worked as a psychological therapist with survivors of torture for a national charity where she also designed and delivered training. Elise is an honorary lecturer at Glasgow University School of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing and is on the Faculty at Temenos Education. Elise also has a small private practice as a counsellor, supervisor, yoga teacher and massage therapist as well as providing long term counselling for a small charity working with male adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse. She is a co-founder of Mandala Consultants.

 

 Elaine Connelly is a qualified and experienced Community Development Practitioner and Manager.  She has 20 years’ experience working in the voluntary sector, supporting refugee led communities and supporting refugee women who have experienced gender based violence.  In the last year, Elaine has worked as an independent consultant providing project management, facilitation and project evaluation.  She is a co-founder of Mandala Consultants.
