Mash It Up Dancehall/Ragga

Mash It Up® was created by Alicja Blachut, orginally from Poland a Personal Trainer, Fitness Instructor, Presenter, Fitness Model, Dance Teacher, Specialist in Ragga/Dancehall. Alicja studied a four year sports degree and is a trained dancer in Jazz and Ballet.

For as long as she can remember Alicja has been connected with sport and fitness. As a child she was a dancer for 4years and for 10 years of her life played professional basketball. While studying sport she got back into dancing. Her main dance styles: Jazz, Ballet, Modern Jazz, Underground, House, Hip Hop, Street Jazz, Afro, Afro Jazz, Salsa and of course Ragga Jam.

Alicja has and still does travel to learn from Laure Courtellemont founder and create of the Offical Ragga Jam® and from some of the Ragga Jam® teachers and her friends: Camron One Shot, Guillaume Lorenz, Audrey Bosc , Fatou Tera, Orville Xpressionz and Crazy Hype. To learn,. and expand her knowledge of the Ragga Dancehall culture and develope her own unique style.

Alicja decided to launch Mash It Up® to share her passion for dancehall culture after she notice the massive demand for her classes. Because of her close connections within the fitness industry she has always taught Ragga / dancehall at fitness clubs to enable those who have no idea about dance, that they could experience and try something different in a familiar environment to that student i.e. their gym.

Our Mission is to make people smile, have fun and express themselves through dance, whilst getting a good workout at the same time. We want to share our love of Dancehall along with the history behind it all!

Author's dance lesson in the hot Jamaican climate, prepared specially for the fitness clubs. This is a dance fitness class for everyone and anyone, from professional dancers to the average person who enjoys dancing to keep fit and active. 

Each class begins with a warm up that includes authentic Jamaican dances as well as isolations for better body control.
The routines consist of authentic Jamaican dance steps put together to form choreography.
It includes steps that condition the body and raise the heart rate, and is taught step by step to really get you into the movement, until the whole choreography is completed. Theroutine embraces the spirit of Dancehall, and emphasises the feeling and the story of the songs through dance movement.
It's all about feeling di vibe and letting go!
