Meka Oku is an AfroHouse and Kuduro dance instructor with over a decade of experience in the dance industry. Specializing in high-energy Angolan styles, he brings authenticity, cultural depth, and passion to every class.
His teaching blends traditional African dance foundations with innovative choreography, creating an engaging experience for dancers of all levels. After years of teaching Afro Fusion, Meka transitioned fully into AfroHouse after developing a deep connection to the style’s rhythm and soul. He has choreographed and performed across New York City, captivating audiences with a balance of creativity and technical precision.
Dedicated to fostering community, confidence, and joy, Meka designs his classes to welcome dancers of all backgrounds, with a strong focus on musicality, footwork, and self-expression. His teaching philosophy centers on growth, connection, and embodied movement, making each session a memorable journey.
