The need to stay in control, to be 'good', to not have too much and the anguish that can cause in order to be what? Healthy? More attractive? Worthy? It's exhausting and actually causes more harm than good.
I bring my own lived experience as well as my qualifications and professional experience to my work.
I specialise in weight inclusive (also known as non-diet) approaches to health. I was a senior lecturer in nutrition and applied physiology for nearly 23 years before I began my own consulting and counseling business Wakeman Nutrition. I had to get away from the 'lose weight for health' rhetoric and help women find themselves to rediscover happiness in their own skin.
I speak at conferences, seminars and I've been on National TV and Global Radio. I also love writing and my work has appeared in many publications including national newspapers and magazines.
