Mind the Gap is one of Europe’s leading learning disability theatre companies that creates work for UK and international audiences.

Working in partnership with learning-disabled artists, the company delivers a bold, cutting-edge and world-class artistic programme that impacts locally, nationally and internationally. Work that excites, surprises and challenges audiences.

The aim is to make great theatre that makes audiences think differently. By “theatre” we don’t just mean shows that you can see in arts and theatre venues, but also performances and events in different spaces and places.

Walk the Plank is one of the UK’s leading outdoor arts specialists with over 26 years’ experience creating award-winning spectacle that empowers artists and communities to produce remarkable pieces of work in the public realm. Based in Salford, in the North West of England, Walk the Plank works regionally, nationally and internationally on projects of every shape and size.

Its portfolio of work includes major projects such as: the closing ceremony to the XVIIth Manchester Commonwealth Games, the opening and closing ceremonies to Liverpool ’08 European Capital of Culture, the 50th birthday celebrations for Milton Keynes 2017, and the opening ceremony to Pafos European Capital of Culture 2017. Other work includes city centre parades, highlight moments for festivals, cultural celebrations and firework displays.

Walk the Plank won Best Outdoor Event 2014 at the Event Awards for Return of Colmcille for Derry-Londonderry, the first ever UK City of Culture in 2013. It has currently been shortlisted with Manchester City Council in the first ever Manchester Culture Awards for the Promotion of Environmental Sustainability through its Manchester Day parade.
