The Schools' Observatory
With The Schools' Observatory, you can explore the Universe from your classroom with the world's largest robotic telescope.
We are part of Liverpool John Moores Univerisity's Astrophysics Research Institute. We use the wonders of space to inspire the next generation of scientists, programmers and engineers. That’s why we give free use of the world’s largest robotic telescope, the Liverpool Telescope (LT), to schools around the world. Unlike traditional telescopes, there is no need to stay up through the night. The LT collects observation requests, schedules them, and automatically returns them to your account when they’re done. Controlling a professional telescope is not straight forward, so the National Schools' Observatory was created to link schools with the telescope.
