nextGenergy

Shirley Paterson founded nextGenergy in 2012, after reducing her home’s energy bill by nearly £2,500 per year by investing in a range of technologies.

She was inspired and set out to encourage others to do likewise.  She volunteered for the Energy Saving Trust and her home’s story became a case study on their Green Homes Network in Scotland.  She received visitors with whom she shared her energy-saving journey and discussed the benefits of having renewable technologies installed.

Then, with a heightened sense of purpose, she decided to form nextGenergy to provide an energy-saving advisory service coupled with the sale of renewable technologies.  Her enthusiasm for this work has been described as evangelical and at times even infectious – she has certainly inspired many customers who are now celebrating success on their energy and money-saving journey too.

nextGenergy’s services have developed over time.  nextGenergy offers Green Deal Assessments, and EPCs, as well as the sale of many energy-saving products and the installation of heat-generating and electricity-generating technologies – all of which are eligible for either the Renewable Heat Incentive or the Feed In Tariff.  nextGenergy works in tandem with highly reputable installers.

nextGenergy has now progressed to transforming travel costs too. Quartering them by simply driving an electric car.  nextGenergy's vehicle is partly fuelled by surplus electricity generated by solar PV panels.  Shirley also volunteers for the Electric Vehicle Association Scotland.

Included in her technology plans for the future is an investment in home energy storage – really a large battery for her home – which will be a further means of using her own on-site generated electricity by storing excess energy for later use in her home.

Shirley is a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor and Green Deal Adviser – nextGenergy produces Energy Performance Certificates and Green Deal Advice Reports.  She has recently also trained as a Non-Domestic Energy Assessor - nextGenergy can provide EPCs on commercial properties as required.

Shirley believes it really is so worthwhile to invest in technologies to do this energy-saving hard work for us – it is so much easier than changing people’s habits!  And the positive results get reflected in much reduced energy bills.

She looks forward to meeting you at this informal talk/tour/Q&A session during Fife Business Week, and potentially working with you thereafter in tackling your energy bill reduction.

Shirley can be contacted beforehand on 01592 622256 / 07800 801151 should you have any immediate queries, or by email to: info@nextgenergy.co.uk
