Northern Children's Book Festival

Northern Children’s Book Festival is a unique region wide annual reading celebration for young people across the North East. The Festival started in 1983 as a two day event and has grown into a two week celebration of books and reading with authors and illustrators meeting children in schools and libraries across the North East.  Although a lot has changed in 32 years, NCBF is still organised and run by all the public libraries between the Tees and the Tweed, with the express aim of connecting children with some of the UK’s top writers and passing on the enjoyment of reading for pleasure.
