Nottingham Civic Exchange

Set up in Nottingham with a primary focus on issues relating to the city and the region, Nottingham Trent University's Civic Think Tank will enable discovery by creating a space where co-produced approaches are developed to tackle entrenched social issues.  Nottingham Civic Exchange will maximise impact for university researchers, communities and partners seeking to address the needs of our communities. It will help to influence debate by becoming one of the region’s premier forums for discussion and information sharing and it will mobilise and support civic engagement through linking together NTU students and staff with wider communities.

One of the first steps will be to host a series of three workshops on:

  • Inclusive safe places – 17th November 2016
  • Sustainable cities – 8th December 2016
  • The future of work – 15th February 2017

NTU’s research is often undertaken with partners to affect local and national policy areas.  Our aim for these workshops is to connect NTU and external audiences to develop, test and instigate new and ongoing areas of work that have an impact on the lives of people across the city and wider region. The Think Tank will commit to facilitate a programme of work arising from workshop discussions.
