On Road is a Third Sector award-winning charity that tackles social problems by improving media coverage of misrepresented groups and issues. The team delivers projects in collaboration with different communities across the UK to bring about real social change.

Founded in 2008, it was awarded charitable status in January 2016. On Road’s early work focused on training charities and the communities they work with in media skills, so they could tell their own stories. Since 2011, the charity has worked more closely with communities on collaborative projects.

That includes the award-winning All About Trans project, improving the portrayal of trans people in the media, Angles: A Different Take On Sexual And Domestic Abuse, and two new programmes on the representation of people who experience poverty and young people with irregular immigration status. The projects bring media influencers together with people with lived experience, promoting new content and a better understanding of specific issues.
