Ossett Brewery

Ossett Brewery was founded in 1998 and first started at the back of the Brewers Pride on Low Mill Road. Founder and Chairman Bob Lawson began the brewery following a 30 year career brewing for Joshua Tetleys, Beverley Brothers and Kelham Island.
Brewing was originally carried out on a 5-barrel brew length plant (about 1,440 pints per brew) the company soon outgrew this and moved a short distance around the corner to Kings Yard. Brewing still continues there today. Famous for light blonde beers, crystal clear and full of flavour, Ossett was one of the early pioneers of this style of beer that has become so popular throughout the country. In 1998 Head Brewer, Paul Spencer, joined us and has overseen the evolution of the core range of beers whilst developing more experimental full flavoured seasonal beers.
During 2017, brewing capacity increased from 12,500 brewer's barrels per year to 22,000. A new 8500sqft warehouse and distribution building has also been built. Cask washing and packaging has been transferred across to the new building and a new cold room has been constructed, capable of storing up to 2,500 firkins.
