Philip Holyman

Born and raised in the Black Country — the homeland of the orange battered chip — Philip has been writing for over twenty years, mostly for theatre, often presenting work through Little Earthquake, the company he jointly runs with his husband Gareth Nicholls.

Recent writing projects with Little Earthquake include The Dog With Two Dads, a LGBTQ+ affirmative show celebrating families of every shape and size, and being loved for exactly who you are; Rocket Fuel, an immersive interactive eight-course dining experience inspired by Neil Armstrong’s in-flight menu on the Apollo 11 Moon mission; and I Ain’t Afraid Of No Ghost, an award-winning investigation into the secrets of a haunted 1980s childhood home.

Philip first branched out into prose writing with To Infinity And Beyond, nine short stories written in response to public participants’ visions of the future. In 2022, he went on to write his first full-length novel, and now, as part of True Voyage Is Return, he’ll produce his second — a brand-new 90,000-word queer sci-fi romance, handwritten over the course of just one calendar month.
