Pin Drop is an international arts and culture studio, presenting the best in short fiction, re-packaged for the 21st Century.
Across our critically-acclaimed programme of live events and recorded readings, Pin Drop Studio showcases world-leading authors, actors and thinkers reading short fiction at iconic venues in London, New York and LA including the Royal Academy of Arts, the Houses of Parliament and BAFTA.
Many of Pin Drop’s activities are non-profit, most notably the Short Story Award, which is open to all and free to enter. Such non-profit elements of our program are made possible by the generous support of our partners.
Since 2012, Pin Drop has brought to the stage remarkable readings from leading literary figures such as William Boyd, Lionel Shriver, Will Self, Ben Okri, and other outstanding talents including Sir Peter Blake, Richard Dawkins, Dame Sian Phillips and Stephen Fry.
Pin Drop Studio is dedicated to delivering a powerful human experience to new audiences who embrace our uncomplicated ethos.
As passionate supporters of new writing, in 2015 we launched the Pin Drop Short Story Award in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Arts; an annual open-submission writing prize awarded to the best of unpublished short fiction.
A Short Affair, a collection of original short fiction, will be published by Scribner in 2018.
Pin Drop Studio was founded by Simon Oldfield and Elizabeth Day.
