Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, and Southampton

Michael Lane is the Police and Crime Commissioner for Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, and Southampton. He was elected by the public in May 2016 to be the voice of the people he represents and to hold the chief constable of Hampshire Constabulary to account.

 

In 2016 the Commissioner published his Police and Crime Plan, which sets out his priorities and strategic direction for Hampshire Police. Michael’s promise to all residents and communities across the policing area is to make them safer.

 

His role also involves bringing together community safety and criminal justice partners to make sure they work together to make our communities safer. He gives out grants to support projects within the community that support his priorities.
