Professor Carolyn Mair PhD

Carolyn works with the fashion industry and fashion educators providing consultancy, research and training. She worked in Higher Education for 20 years and as Professor of Psychology for Fashion at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, she pioneered the world's first Masters and Bachelors programmes to apply psychology within the broad context of fashion. She holds a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience, MSc in Research Methods Psychology and BSc (Hons) in Applied Psychology and Computing. Prior to becoming an academic, Carolyn worked as a visual merchandiser, graphic designer, dressmaker and portrait artist.

Carolyn is a Chartered Psychologist and Fellow of the British Psychological Society and the proud recipient of the 2017 British Psychological Society's Award for Distinguished Contributions to Psychology Education. 

Carolyn has published broadly and is frequently featured in the press and other media. Her new book, The Psychology of Fashionpart of Routledge's Psychology of Everything series, was published in March 2018.
