Professor Carolyn Mair PhD

Carolyn works with the fashion industry and fashion educators providing consultancy, research and training. As Professor of Psychology for Fashion at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, she pioneered the world's first Masters and Bachelors programmes to apply psychology within the broad context of fashion. Carolyn is frequently featured in the press and other media and has published broadly in scholarly journals. Her new book, The Psychology of Fashionpart of Routledge's Psychology of Everything series, was published in March 2018. She is a Chartered Psychologist and Fellow of the British Psychological Society and has a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience, MSc Research Methods Psychology and BSc (Hons) Applied Psychology and Computing. Prior to becoming an academic, Carolyn worked as a visual merchandiser, graphic designer, dressmaker and portrait artist.
