Professor Emerita Gill Hague

Emerita Professor Gill Hague, Professor of Violence Against Women Studies, has worked as an activist, professor and researcher challenging violence against women for nearly 50 years. She has published about 130 publications on gender-based violence including eight books, one in three editions, and is also the author/editor of three poetry collections. She was a co-founder with Ellen Malos of the Violence Against Women Research Group, now the Centre for Gender and Violence Research, University of Bristol, in 1989/1990. She has been awarded a life time Emma Humphreys Memorial Prize for her work on violence against women, 2013, and a National Honour for her work with survivors of violence, 2020, the name of which she prefers not to use due to its imperial connections.
