Project 52

Project 52 was an idea born from a hazy conversation between four friends and local professionals, namely: Dan Hare, Dara Lutes-Guest, Luke Smith and Oliver Mourant.

On a hot summers day, soaking up the rays outside a local watering hole, the suggestion arose that we should open a pub. Not just any pub - the best pub.  A place, that would combine our love of socialising with our love of enterprising, bringing together good people in a great environment that would be a home-from-home, a community - with drinking. And maybe pies. We also dreamed, that as a community, there would be collective responsibility, to enable collective enjoyment. 　

Skipping to the end of this idea-addled afternoon, we conceived the idea to crowd fund this venture, through membership by likeminded individuals, in order to create a space that we can all share, enjoy and make a huge success through the power of numbers and our diverse skills. The initial discussion was based on a ‘pop up’ style venue, sawdust on the floor and a few kegs of real ale. Given the characters involved, this idea quickly morphed into the birth of Project 52.
