Psychology Postgraduate Society

The Department of Psychology (University of Sheffield) has one of the biggest cohorts of post-graduate students in the country and they form a coherent and supportive community. This society includes our MSc groups, and the following PhD groups: clinical psychology, neuroscience (based in the Alfred Denny building), work psychology (based in the Management School), Human-Robot-Interaction groups (based in SITraN) and all the other groups based in the main Psychology department (social, developmental, computational and cognitive science).

The main aim of the society is to facilitate integration across the multi-sub-disciplinary groups, mentioned above, and to offer social and academic support to all PG students. This will be achieved by organising social events (nights out, meals, and trips), training sessions and internal seminars, raising interest in public engagement events through organising or getting involved in fairs and school talks. In addition, a second important aim is to build an even stronger relationship between post-grad students and departmental staff. Furthermore, most events will be organised in collaboration with members of staff, who we closely work with as MSc or PhD students.
