Random Acts North: Creative Futures

Random Acts North: Creative Futures is a two-day training and development event for young artist filmmakers featuring masterclasses, workshops and panel talks with a range of professionals from the film and art world.

Over the weekend you’ll learn how to kick-start your career, build a successful professional profile, and develop skills in producing and directing new moving image work for the screen.

Creative Futures is aimed at alumni of the Random Acts short film programme and is also open to filmmakers and artists aged 16+ interested in working with the moving image.

The event coincides with the arrival of the Random Acts: Playback exhibition at Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle upon Tyne, showcasing over 200 bold and daring short films from across the country produced as part of Arts Council England and Channel 4’s Random Acts initiative.

Please note that to attend any of the our events you need a Random Acts North: Creative Futures Weekend Pass.

If you are not a Random Acts filmmaker, please book tickets for your weekend pass from the Tyneside Cinema website. Passes are £12, or £6 for students and Young Tyneside members.

This event is taking place over 2 days and we strongly encourage you to participate in all the activities. Spaces on our masterclasses are strictly limited, so please only book onto individual masterclass session if you are certain that you will be attending!
