River Crouch Celebrations 2015

Join artists Ali Pretty and Richard White on a 100 mile walk, over 8 consecutive days, through countryside and coast along the north and south banks of the River Crouch.

As part of the River Crouch Celebrations, Ali, Richard and a team of 8 local artists have been working with schools and communities in 8 villages, reconnecting four communities on either side of the River Crouch.  A large scale silk flag has been inspired and created by the people from each village, which will collected by Ali and Richard as they continue on their 100 mile walk, culminating in a crossing of the River Crouch from South Woodham Ferrers to Hullbridge for a celebratory Feast Day on Saturday 4 July.

Join this 100 mile 8 day walk on foot or online, meet at the ghost crossings and other special places along the way. Help discover and share the stories of the Crouch, and the people who live on and beside the river.

The River Crouch Celebrations programme has been developed by Rochford District Council working with arts organisation, Kinetika. Information: 01702 318120 or arts@rochford.gov.uk
